Vehicles in this gallery have an individual
page for each bus. |
 |
| During World War II only
eleven new buses could be purchased, all were Guy Arabs
chassis with ultility bodies by Pickering (56 and 57)
and Massey (58-66).
The two Pickering bodied 5LW vehicles were sold shortly
after the war to Sunderland Corporation.
The Massey bodied 6LW vehicles had a much longer life,
mainly due to eight of them being re-bodied by East
Lancs Coachbuilders between July 1954 and May 1956.
On re-entering service these vehicles became the first
to carry the livery of a lighter shade of green and
without lining out!
