The first diesel engined vehicles arrived
in February 1935 in the shape of two Leyland TD4c No.'s
35 and 36, with English Electric 52-seat bodies.
Three further TD4s No.'s 37-39, with Leyland 56-seat
bodies arrived in 1936.
No. 37, delivered separately in November 1935, differed
in having a 'V' front upper deck.
No.37 last saw service in 1951, whilst No.'s 38 and
39 remained in service until the last day of 1956. The
two English Electric vehicles were withdrawn in 1949.
