| As part of the Tramway
replacement fleet a total of 41 Leyland PD1 and PD1A
vehicles arrived in 1946 and 1947 in four separate batches.
The two batches of PD1A's had Leyland bodies as had
the first batch of PD1's. The second batch, though,
were quite different in having bodies by Crossley.
All vehicles from the No.'s 105-119 batch arrived
in September 1947, but No.'s 115-119 were not put into
service until the first day of 1948.
No.'s 105-119 were the first buses to arrive without
lining out.
