| As part of the Tramway
replacement fleet a total of 41 Leyland PD1 and PD1A
vehicles arrived in 1946 and 1947 in four separate batches.
The two batches of PD1A's had Leyland bodies as had
the first batch of PD1's. The second batch, though,
were quite different in having bodies by Crossley.
As with the Leyland PS1 single-deck vehicles delivered
four months earlier, No.'s 95-104, which arrived in
September 1947, had Crossley bodies.
Several of this batch were re-built with rubber surround
saloon windows in later life, with some, in the process,
losing their typical Crossley style slopping front end.
