Vehicle Type: LEYLAND PD1A
Fleet No.'s: 85-94

Vehicles in this gallery have an individual page for each bus.

As part of the Tramway replacement fleet a total of 41 Leyland PD1 and PD1A vehicles arrived in 1946 and 1947 in four separate batches.

The two batches of PD1A's had Leyland bodies as had the first batch of PD1's. The second batch, though, were quite different in having bodies by Crossley.

No.'s 85-94 entered service in Blackburn between May and July 1947.

These vehicles were built by Lancashire Aircraft (re-named Samlesbury Engineering from April 1st 1947) using parts supplied by Leyland.

All were in service for over 20 years except No. 84 which was withdrawn in 1964.
