| As part of the Tramway
replacement fleet a total of 41 Leyland PD1 and PD1A
vehicles arrived in 1946 and 1947 in four separate batches.
The two batches of PD1A's had Leyland bodies as had
the first batch of PD1's. The second batch, though,
were quite different in having bodies by Crossley.
Buses from this batch, No.'s 67-72, were delivered
between May and July 1946.
These vehicles remained in service until early 1960's,
No.70 being the last to be withdrawn in October 1963.
These vehicles were built by Alexanders using both
parts supplied by Leyland and some of their own manufacture.
