| To complete the tramway
replacement fleet, twenty further Guy Arab 6LW's were
purchased in 1949, this time with Crossley bodies.
These vehicles were No.'s 120-139, and most were in
service for well over 20 years. Many were re-built with
rubber surround saloon windows and at last two vehicles,
No.'s 120 and 130, lost their distinctive Crossley 'swoop'
during the rebuild.
The arrival of these vehicles also brought to an end
the tramway livery, these being the last buses to carry
the darker olive green and lining out livery at new.
No. 133 (CBV 433) is preserved and is part of the Darwen
Transport Trust collection.
